The CUPRA Ateca Limited Edition, the most exclusive Ateca, already has a price in Spain and it is not cheap

CUPRA still plans to expand the family but, in the meantime, has decided to dress up its only offspring. The CUPRA Ateca is the only production model of the recently created Spanish brand, which has wanted to pay tribute to it with a very special edition. The name Limited Edition hides an Ateca enhanced with a series of elements that turn this homegrown SUV into a true collector’s piece, as evidenced by the 350 units destined for Spain.

For now, the CUPRA Ateca will be the only model to receive these upgrades thanks to the Limited Edition special edition. However, the Spanish company has already confirmed that it has its sights set on adding new models, among which we will find the León, Formentor and Tavascan, the last two being exclusive to CUPRA although with a good chance of also taking part in the renewal of the SEAT range.

Meanwhile, the sporty brand wanted to highlight the character of its firstborn with significant aesthetic and interior improvements. The first thing that catches our attention is the exclusive Graphene Grey colour, which fits perfectly with various elements finished in copper and carbon fibre, such as the wing mirror housings. The 20-inch alloy wheels with specific design also reinforce the exclusivity this special edition is able to offer.

The rear, besides being accentuated by the CUPRA badge also finished in copper, has been enhanced with a quad exhaust outlet. This may be signed by Akrapovič, as happens with its close relative the Volkswagen Golf R, but beware, only 50 of the 350 units arriving in Spain will be able to feature this interesting and tasty extra.

The interior has also set out to become a true showcase of sportiness, which is why bucket-type seats and various carbon fibre inserts have been included. However, the mechanical section has remained unchanged, so its undisputed star is the same turbocharged four-cylinder capable of delivering 300 CV and 400 Nm of torque, figures managed by a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox and the 4Drive all-wheel-drive system.

A total of 1,199 units will be produced, of which only 350 will arrive in Spain, giving the CUPRA Ateca a very special place within the brand. However, this exclusivity comes with a not exactly low outlay, which is set at 58,584 euros without discounts or promotions, a figure that brings it dangerously close to the Audi SQ2, a model with which it shares its engine.
