The DS7 Crossback E-Tense Plug-In Hybrid arrives, the Premium plug-in hybrid

The French Premium SUV DS7 is set to keep making headlines with a new variant, so the brand that until recently was part of Citroën has shown us the plug-in hybrid version of the model, called DS7 Crossback E-Tense. The plug-in hybrid variant features a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, which works alongside two electric motors mounted on the rear axle, giving the model all-wheel drive.

The combustion engine delivers 200 CV, while the two electric motors add the equivalent of 109 CV, so combined power reaches 309 CV and maximum torque is 450 Nm. The electric motors are powered by a 13.2 kWh battery pack, which allows the DS7 Crossback E-Tense to cover up to 50 kilometres in fully electric mode under the new WLTP cycle.

In fully electric mode it can reach a speed of 135 km/h. Besides the electric mode, the DS7 Crossback E-Tense has three other modes: Sport, Hybrid and 4WD. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 6.5 seconds, while pollutant emissions are rated at 50 g/km, also according to the WLTP cycle.

One of the interesting things about the DS7 Crossback E-Tense is the E-Save system, which saves energy so that the last two kilometres of a journey can be driven purely electrically, arriving at the destination without CO2 emissions. The battery takes 2 hours to charge, provided a 32-amp fast charger or a 6.6 kW charger is used, while with a conventional charger charging extends to 8 hours.

Despite the batteries, the DS7 Crossback E-Tense does not lose interior space, either for occupants or for the boot. As for the exterior, it fits 19-inch wheels and has been presented in Crystal Grey, which looks quite good, as you can see in the images.
