The Honda N-Box arrives renewed on the Japanese 'kei car' market
The Honda N-Box is one of those curious ‘kei cars’ that hit the streets of Japan, and it has been renewed to offer better features and performance

Some cars have a curious look. So much so that they rarely work outside the markets they were created for. One of the best-known markets for these cars is Japan. There we have the kei cars, small cars designed for the cities that are very popular on the streets of Japan. One of those models is the Honda N-Box, which arrives renewed, with a new design to become the favourite of Japanese users.
Its look is somewhat curious and it would possibly not work outside the local market, but it is designed to be a bestseller in the country and to suit buyers’ tastes. This model has all the characteristics of the kei cars, which, despite their size and their own features, which seek to lower the final price by offering the most basic equipment for city driving, still have plenty to improve occupant safety and comfort.

It is surprising that, being a car like this, small and designed to take up little space, it offers a relatively spacious interior for the four occupants this vehicle was designed for. The interior is well equipped, with an elegant three-spoke steering wheel and a very complete design. It also has an information display, and comfortable seats (with an antibacterial treatment) and services such as navigation are available as options.
Among the driver-assistance systems this small and curious model incorporates are emergency braking, Cruise Control, a lane departure warning system, a system that mitigates the risk of pedestrian collisions, and other elements found on the brand’s higher-end models.
The engine is not very powerful, but it offers what is needed in this type of car. The car has a 660 cc engine, which delivers 58 CV and a maximum torque of 65 Nm, which is not much use on motorways, but allows comfortable movement through city streets. This type of car is not just a “mobility solution“, but a full-fledged car, with good equipment and a price that is not exactly cheap. The Honda N-Box arrives on the Japanese market at a price of 1,385,640 yen, which at the exchange rate comes to roughly 10,570 euros.
