The Hyundai Bayon now presents a much more elegant and refined look

The Hyundai Bayon now shows a much more elegant and robust look thanks to the restyle applied by the brand

We are approaching the third anniversary of the arrival of the Hyundai Bayon to the Korean brand’s lineup, a B-SUV that competes directly with rivals as renowned as the Renault Captur, the Seat Arona, the Škoda Kamiq, or the Volkswagen T-Cross. When we tested it in the summer of 2022, we missed a more striking and differentiating look, something that the restyle applied by Hyundai now undoubtedly brings closer.

The changes applied by Hyundai to the Bayon focus especially on the front end, which catch the eye immediately and in a pleasant way, since its design no longer looks so simple. The most significant change is in its light unit, with very slim LED lights that remain positioned high but are now connected by an LED strip as well, giving it a more technological look. The low and high beam lights are still located below, in the same position but now integrated more elegantly with the side air intakes.

The new design that Hyundai has created for the side air intakes has caused the front grille to grow wider, in addition to presenting more pronounced edges at its ends. On the other hand, its height could be said to have been reduced; it no longer reaches the very bottom of the bumper, because the lower central air intake is now wider, creating a sense of greater robustness, enhanced by the use of metallic-finish inserts acting as lower protection.

Moving toward the rear, we see a new shoulder line that is much more pronounced and extends all the way to the tail, where the same rear light unit is retained but with a new light signature that also adds greater elegance. To this is added the lower part of the bumper, with a new design in which the areas painted in the same color as the bodywork gain greater prominence, and the housing for the reversing lights has also been redesigned. Finally, it is worth noting that the brand has added new wheel designs for the Bayon in sizes of 16 and 17 inches.

The interior of the Hyundai Bayon also follows the line of the new image it wants to offer, now more technological thanks to the adoption of greater technology such as the digital instrument cluster, which can optionally reach 10.25 inches, a size similar to that of the screen used for the infotainment system, which can also be improved thanks to the fact that OTA updates will now be possible. In line with this, the Bayon also receives new driver assistance systems that will make it an even safer car.

As regards the mechanical side, Hyundai provides no information, so it is implied that the current engine range is being retained. The engines currently available for the Bayon are all petrol, with a choice between the more modest 1.2 MPI with 84 CV or the 1.0 T-GDI in outputs of 100 CV or 120 CV, both options featuring 48 V mild-hybrid technology and available with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic gearbox.

For the time being, we will have to wait to learn both the specific equipment for Spain and the price it will have in our country.
