The Hyundai IONIQ 6 N arrives to thrill lovers of intense driving sensations
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N is shaping up as an electric saloon that offers not only outstanding performance, but also a unique driving experience.
Hyundai has taken advantage of the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed to unveil its most radical vehicle to date. Developed to put a broad grin on the faces of enthusiasts of aggressive driving, the new IONIQ 6 N relies for this on cutting-edge innovations in suspension geometry, an elaborate drift control system and an immersive sound so that you can experience speed to the full.
This new high-performance model from the South Korean manufacturer is presented as an option with which to push your emotions to the limit, while also being considerably more accessible than other vehicles in the same segment that promise the same. In a market where models such as the Porsche Taycan or the Lucid Air easily exceed 100 thousand euros, the IONIQ 6 N offers competition-level performance for much less.

Equipped with the same propulsion system as the acclaimed IONIQ 5 N, this new Hyundai model takes the driving experience a step further. Its two electric motors, one on each axle, generate just over 470 kW of power and 770 Nm of instant and explosive torque when N Grin Boost is activated. Performance that allows it to outpace many of its rivals, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds with N Launch Control. When the straights arrive and with your foot to the floor, few can keep up with the pace set by the IONIQ 6 N, with a top speed reaching 257 km/h.
In terms of range, it does not fall short either, capable of covering up to 469 km, according to the manufacturer’s estimate under the WLTP homologation cycle. Its aerodynamic coefficient of 0.274 Cd is largely responsible for this model’s level of efficiency, since the battery pack is the same 84 kWh unit used by other models from the brand. When it comes to recharging, its 800V architecture allows it to go from 10 to 80 percent battery charge in approximately 18 minutes using a 350 kW fast charger.
The secret that makes it unique
Hyundai has combined all the specifications we have just mentioned with a series of systems that set it apart from the rest, with the aim of offering an immersive and exciting driving experience. Among them, it is worth mentioning N e-Shift, which simulates an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, integrating seamlessly with functions such as Drift Optimizer, N Grin Boost and torque distribution control. Thanks to this system, anyone who sits behind the wheel of the IONIQ 6 N will be able to experience controlled slides, without ever leaving the track, or simulated gear changes, as in a combustion-engined competition car.

Just in case that were not enough, to complete the experience the N Active Sound+ system generates artificial sounds typical of a combustion engine, in order to heighten the sense of sportiness. A feature it shares with the IONIQ 5 N and which, without doubt, surprised many at the time.
Hold on to your seat!
But that is not all, because the IONIQ 6 N also debuts an improved battery thermal management system, which ensures sustained performance on track without compromising power. The suspension has also been completely redesigned, with new electronic dampers that adjust damping force and optimised geometry for more precise handling. The brakes, with four-piston calipers and 400 mm discs at the front, together with 20-inch Pirelli P-Zero 5 wheels, guarantee exceptional grip.

Finally, with regard to its design, the IONIQ 6 N combines elegance and aggressiveness with details such as rear spoilers, more prominent side skirts and darkened headlights on the European version, which give it an imposing look. In addition, the N Ambient Light Shift system adds a futuristic touch, with interior lights that synchronise with the virtual gear changes, reinforcing that gamified experience.

The IONIQ 6 N will officially debut in September 2025, with a European launch planned for early 2026. Although official prices have not been confirmed by Hyundai, various sources estimate that its price will be around 80 thousand euros, approximately. This places it in the market as one of the most accessible alternatives in relation to its performance.
