The keys to the Bugatti Chiron and its manufacturing
The Bugatti Chiron stands out not only for its 1,500 CV of power, but also for its exclusive manufacturing process.
Series production of the Bugatti Chiron is gaining pace. Currently, 12 units are being built at the Bugatti production plant. It is estimated that by the end of 2017 there will be a total of 70 Chirons on the market. The French supercar is unique for many reasons, among them its incredible performance (1,500 CV of power), but also for offering an exclusive construction process that sets it apart from other brands and supercars. Below we break down the keys to the manufacturing process of the most expensive car on the market: 2.4 million euros.
Customised to the customer’s taste
The vehicle’s configuration is carried out jointly by the customer and a Bugatti designer. Each Chiron is unique and is built according to the customer’s personal tastes. This model offers 23 exterior colours, 31 interior finishes, 30 types of stitching, 18 carpets and 11 seatbelt colours. And in addition to the basic range, thousands of different finishes and options can be chosen.
100% handmade

At the Bugatti factories there are no robots automating production tasks; everything is carried out by the 20 workers who build the Chiron. The employees are divided into stations, as in a Formula 1 team. The Bugatti Chiron is made up of more than 1,800 individual parts, a large share of which are supplied by the Volkswagen group.
The home of the Bugatti Chiron

The supercar is built at the “Atelier” assembly plant located in Molsheim (France). This factory has a usable area of 1,000 square metres and was inaugurated in 2005. It has an oval layout based on the logo of the French brand, the Bugatti “Macaron”.
Final tests cover more than 300 km

Before the Chiron leaves the “Atelier” plant, the supercar undergoes an exhaustive programme of dynamic and functional testing in which it covers more than 300 kilometres, reaching speeds above 250 km/h.
