A new year always brings new developments, and 2017 is not going to be left behind. So we will be able to see many new models in dealerships and, in addition, even bolder versions of cars that need no introduction. The Lamborghini Aventador S arrives to raise the bar for this supercar and make its performance even more striking. In doing so, it also makes its look even more attractive, if that is possible.

Let us begin with the aerodynamics, which has been improved thanks to a completely new front end that allows it to cut through the wind effortlessly and offers a look similar to the base model, yet is more efficient. At the rear there are also changes, with a black diffuser that can optionally be made of carbon fibre, and a movable spoiler with three positions that further improves the car’s behaviour depending on its configuration. The triple exhaust provides a distinctive sound that makes you want to let yourself go.

The chassis of the Aventador S remains unchanged from the original model, but adds rear-wheel steering. This allows it to stay firm and under control at low and medium speeds, making it more manageable and giving it a more docile feel at the wheel. In addition, the inclusion of this system has required several changes to the damper settings and to the behaviour of the all-wheel drive and ESP.

The new Lamborghini Aventador S includes a new driving mode. Alongside the three driving modes already known, Strada, Sport and Corsa, comes the EGO mode, which combines the settings of the other three to give the car better efficiency. In this mode the response of the engine, suspension, speed of the seven-speed ISR robotised gearbox, steering, ESP and all-wheel drive can be modified, so that each driver can tackle every journey to their own liking.

The interior keeps the shape and concept of a fighter jet, which gives the cabin and the area in front of the driver a very dynamic touch, and the instrument cluster changes according to the mode in use. And turning to the engine, the new Lamborghini Aventador S will fit a naturally aspirated V12 that sends the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 350 km/h thanks to its 740 CV of power.

The average price of the Lamborghini Aventador S in Europe will be 281,555 euros, a figure that could rise somewhat more in Spain. Surprising, right?
