The McLaren Senna arrives, a tribute to the great driver with 800 CV of power
The McLaren Senna pays tribute to the great driver and, although it has a sporty spirit geared towards the track, it will be road-approved to impress on the road

A supercar is usually a car that ends up thrilling us and making us eager to see it, since we will hardly be able to get behind the wheel of one of them. If we combine the concept of a supercar with the name of a true champion of the steering wheel such as Ayrton Senna, we have one of the great cars that will make us vibrate just by seeing it in these images we present to you.
The McLaren Senna pays tribute to the driver, but takes that recognition to the street, so that it can be enjoyed to the full in everyday city traffic or on country roads. Its spectacular looks are matched by a dry weight of 1,189 kg, the lightest presented by the British brand after the McLaren F1. It is based on the chassis already used by the McLaren 720S, although this carbon fibre monocoque chassis has evolved to shape this new model.

The car is designed to stay firmly planted on the ground, since every line of its bodywork is conceived to form part of a fully efficient aerodynamic kit. Both the front and the rear are designed to increase that aerodynamic downforce and boost control at all times. A front splitter, the bonnet design, the rear diffuser and all the other elements are designed to achieve an excellent aerodynamic performance, which also helps create that striking and surprising image.

The hot air from the engine and the exhaust gases are taken out of the equation by channelling them away, preventing them from interfering with the car’s behaviour. With each of the car’s parts, the car is kept well anchored to the ground and it is prevented from interfering with the car’s movement. The rear wing represents the highest point of the car, at 1,219 mm from the ground and it moves thanks to a hydraulic system.
The engine powering this spectacular model is a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 block that delivers 800 CV of power and a maximum torque of 800 Nm, which means this road car can also offer spectacular track performance. The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that can be operated manually thanks to the paddles located behind the steering wheel.

The exhaust sound enters the cabin to create an immersive experience thanks to minimal sound insulation designed to let you enjoy this sound inside the car. The driver will have the option of three driving modes: Comfort, Sport and Track. The suspension helps create this performance, and with Race mode it lowers the car to the maximum and firms up its behaviour to achieve the best result at high speed.
As for the interior, it is designed to be used with a helmet, in case you want to feel the car’s power on a circuit. The cabin design features carbon fibre elements, although some of them can be replaced with glass to provide greater visibility.

Minimalism is fundamental to this design, and everything is designed to enjoy driving to the full. The only thing that is somewhat differentiating from a racing car is the sound system, which cannot be missing in a car with these characteristics.
As for availability, it should be noted that only one edition will be manufactured, limited to 500 units, with a price of approximately 853,000 euros, so it will not be easy to get hold of one, either in terms of quantity or price.
