The most radical version of the Ferrari 812 Superfast is already in the oven
Ferrari is hard at work on the 812 “GTO”, a more hopped-up and radical variant of the 812 Superfast that could arrive with 900 CV.

Ferrari has always accustomed us to souped-up versions of its models with V8 and V12 engines, a tradition that is not going to be lost with its latest batch of vehicles. With this premise, we all eagerly await the arrival of those more radical and sporting variants of both the F8 Tributo and the 812 Superfast, offspring that at the time set a new language within the brand. Now, the men from the Cavallino have been caught red-handed, in the middle of testing the future 812 “GTO”.
For now, and as is customary, Ferrari has maintained a deafening silence on the matter, forcing us to speculate about the details of this long-awaited version. Nevertheless, the test mule is quite encouraging, which allows us to get a little closer to the details the probably badly named 812 GTO will carry.
Two units have been spotted running at full speed on the asphalt of Fiorano, the brand’s private circuit that it uses to put its creations to the test. For now, the bodywork remains intact and does not reveal much of the new aerodynamics this more sporting, powerful and radical version will be subjected to; however, we can make out certain aspects that show Ferrari is taking the modifications very seriously.

The rear, now accentuated by a more prominent and wider diffuser, suggests that much of the aerodynamic work will be focused on that area. A longer exhaust outlet also makes an appearance, hinting at a more refined system capable of contributing not only to an increase in power, but also to providing an even catchier soundtrack and, of course, driven by a virtuoso naturally aspirated V12.
And we must not forget that the Ferrari 812 Superfast is powered by a colossal 6.5-litre V12 capable of delivering 800 CV and 718 Nm of torque. Without a doubt, surpassing that threshold does not seem an easy task, but the house of the Prancing Horse will know how to squeeze every last drop of sportiness from that engine, while letting hybrid technology make its starring appearance with the successor to the 812.

Be that as it may, we are getting ever closer to meeting the new powerhouse of sportiness from Ferrari, a legacy it inherits after the F12 TDF set the bar very high. In this way, the Italian firm is preparing to enter a battle in which not only are there few brands taking part, but which will also be arduous and tough for each and every one of the aspirants to the throne of kings.
