Audi has today released a video inviting the public to see the next generation of the A4 this Monday, 29 June. The renewed German saloon is thus getting ahead of its presentation at the Frankfurt Motor Show, where it will hold a prominent place among the world premieres. Despite this, the smaller event will give it more attention than the German fair would.

The teaser video, published in German and English, shows the four-door A4 on the left and the A4 Avant on the right, both suitably covered to preserve the intrigue. Despite this measure, certain features of the front can be discerned, and these differ quite a lot from how many media outlets and websites had imagined its appearance.

The daytime running LEDs of the new A4 B9 will outline a silhouette whose lines evoke those of the new R8. The two rows somewhat resemble a boomerang or an arrowhead, a feature that accentuates the car’s width. We recall that the model’s dimensions will see considerable increases in order to better distance it from the A3 Sedan.

The headlights that house them flank the already traditional, very voluminous hexagonal grille that will complete the new face of the A4 with personality. The saloon will reduce its weight by more than one hundred kilograms and will debut the 190 CV 2.0 TFSI engine that Audi presented at the Vienna International Motor Symposium, whose consumption, in this case, will fall below five litres per hundred kilometres.

It is also expected to inherit the digital instrument cluster of the new Q7 and TT and an improved version of the MMI multimedia system, paired with a larger touchscreen to make it easier to use. Its commercialisation will be scheduled for after its debut in Frankfurt, that is, for autumn.
