The new DS3 and DS4 feature the new Hybrid technology from €31,524
The DS 3 and DS 4 HYBRID offer up to 50% of city driving in electric mode, without plugs, with fuel savings, with an ECO label and technology inspired by Formula E
DS Automobiles continues its commitment to electrification with its new DS 3 and DS 4 HYBRID, a self-charging option with no cables that combines a combustion engine and an electric motor to optimise comfort, efficiency and respect for the environment. This new 48V hybrid system reduces emissions without losing performance, and is ideal for city driving, where more than half of journeys can be made in “zero emissions” mode. This technology is offered from €31,524 for the DS 3 and €35,754 for the DS 4, positioning itself as a cost-effective alternative to diesel and with advantages for avoiding urban access restrictions, as it carries the ECO label.

Technology inspired by Formula E
DS, with solid experience in the b, has integrated its learnings into the development of this HYBRID 48V system. This technology allows the DS models to start in electric mode and move without noise or emissions in low-load situations, using the petrol engine when an additional boost is required. In addition, the regenerative braking system recharges the battery during deceleration, eliminating the need for plugs. Thanks to this automatic battery management, the switch of energy between the motors is imperceptible and ensures a smooth and optimised driving experience.
Power without cables or complications
The DS hybrid system delivers not only comfort but also efficiency. With a 136 CV petrol engine and 230 Nm of torque, complemented by a 21 kW (28 CV) electric motor coupled to an innovative six-speed dual-clutch transmission, the DS HYBRID 48V responds quickly and smoothly, ideal for both urban and road journeys. The 0.9 kWh battery recharges itself and guarantees significant range in electric mode at low speeds, making these models an optimal choice for daily commuting.

In addition, urban driving allows up to 50% of the time in “zero emissions”, while on longer trips the hybrid system offers flexibility and savings, achieving up to a 40% reduction in fuel consumption under optimal conditions. On the WLTP combined cycle, the DS 3 and DS 4 HYBRID consume 1.2 litres less per 100 km compared with conventional petrol engines, reducing emissions by 27 grams of CO₂ per kilometre.
One of the most notable innovations in the DS HYBRID system is the integration of all components into the e-DCS6 transmission, which saves space and reduces weight, improving the vehicle’s overall efficiency. While driving, the transition between modes is so subtle that the only indicator of the change is the blue illumination on the speedometer, which signals operation in electric mode. In addition, the digital instrument panel shows the energy flow in real time and the percentage of the journey completed in electric mode at the end of each trip.

The cost-effective and ecological alternative from DS Automobiles
In 2024, DS Automobiles reaffirms its role as a pioneer in offering practical and sustainable solutions with a hybrid proposition that stands out for efficiency, performance and running costs. This technology not only grants the DGT ECO label, but also avoids registration tax and reduces local taxation, becoming a competitive option with tax advantages and a price comparable to diesel.
