Infiniti Q30 Compact Photos Salón de Frankfurt
The new Infiniti Q30 shows its interior

The Infiniti Q30 is the Japanese luxury brand’s bid to take on the premium compact segment head-to-head with real credibility.
Only a few weeks ago we saw the exterior design of the Japanese car; today is the day to discover its interior, just days before its presentation at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Q30 has an exterior that we could describe as bold, thanks to a design that blends the lines of a compact with details more commonly found on a crossover. The people at Infiniti have chosen to take a risk on this front —they had little to lose— and launch a premium compact with an adventurous character.
As for the interior, judging by the image released by the brand, they have been far more conservative. The general lines of the Q30’s cabin are easily recognisable as those of an Infiniti, something that will undoubtedly please the most devoted followers of the Japanese luxury marque.

As we all know, Mercedes-Benz and Nissa-Renault signed a collaboration agreement some time ago, which is already starting to bear its first fruits. Let’s recall that several models from the three-pointed star brand use diesel engines originating from Renault (1.5 dCi), and the reverse also holds true: this very Infiniti Q30, for instance, is equipped with the well-known 2.2 CDI from Mercedes.
Inside the Infiniti, we quickly realise that the hand of Mercedes is more than present. The cabin is full of parts originating from the German brand. Looking closely, we notice that everything from the window switches to the electric seat adjustment controls, including the steering wheel and the instrumentation, has been taken straight from Mercedes’s shelves.
The solution adopted by the brand for the multimedia screen is eye-catching. In this model it is integrated seamlessly into the dashboard under a hood at the top of the dash, similar to what was seen on the previous Mercedes C-Class. It is perhaps a better-resolved idea than the one Mercedes uses in its equivalent models, with a fixed, tablet-style screen that cannot be folded away, which has received so much criticism.
