Avenger Jeep Electric Cars SUV
The new Jeep Avenger arrives, with a 1.2 Turbo petrol engine or in an electric version
Jeep presents all the details of the new Jeep Avenger, the compact SUV for which you can choose between a 100 CV petrol version or an electric variant with 156 CV and a range of 400 km.

Jeep completes its range of compact SUVs with the new Jeep Avenger, which joins the Renegade to compete in one of the most in-demand and fastest-growing segments of the market today. Although these models are of very similar size, the Avenger and the Renegade are, in reality, different models: more adventurous and better prepared to leave the tarmac in the case of the Renegade, while the Avenger is aimed at buyers looking for a vehicle for everyday use, one that makes them look “stylish”, with plenty of customisation options… and with all the spirit of the brand.
The Jeep Avenger shares its platform with the Opel Mokka, which may be one of the main alternatives. Other possible rivals, in terms of size, concept and price, would be the Volkswagen T-Cross, the Peugeot 2008, the Citroën C3 Aircross, the Ford Puma or the Renault Captur. With a length of 4.08 metres and a boot capacity of 380 litres, the Avenger is the first Jeep model with 100% electric propulsion, although a petrol variant is also sold in the Spanish market.
The first electric Jeep
The electric version of the Jeep Avenger shares its propulsion system with other electric models from the Stellantis group, such as the new Mokka Electric or the Peugeot 308 electric. It uses a motor delivering 156 CV and 260 Nm of torque, transmitting power to the front wheels, and its 54 kWh battery allows an homologated range of 400 km, which according to the brand can reach 550 km in city driving. It supports fast charging with a power of up to 100 kW, allowing the battery to go from 20 to 80% in around 25 minutes. With AC charging, the maximum charging power is 11 kW.

As a proper Jeep, the Avenger boasts off-road capabilities superior to what is normal in this category, despite not offering all-wheel-drive versions. To achieve this, the hill descent control system and Select Terrain are standard, allowing the driver to choose between different programmes to adapt the vehicle to the type of terrain or driving style: sport, eco, normal, snow, mud or sand. The ground clearance is 200 mm.
Inside, the Jeep Avenger stands out above all for the attention the brand has paid to offering multiple storage spaces. We had the opportunity to sit in a pre-production unit, verifying the number of cubbies spread throughout the cabin and how easy it is to settle into the driving position, where the large multimedia screen really catches the eye. What I did not find so good is the rear seat space, which is rather tight, and the design and adjustment options of the headrests can become bothersome depending on the height of those travelling in the rear.

The starting price of the Jeep Avenger Electric, excluding purchase aids under the Plan Moves scheme, starts at 39,500 euros for the First Edition version, the first to go on sale.
Jeep Avenger 1.2 Turbo: for those who don’t want a plug
Jeep has also decided to sell in Spain a version of the Avenger with a petrol engine, in this case the 1.2 three-cylinder with 100 CV also used by other Stellantis Group models, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and without any kind of hybridisation, so it qualifies for the DGT C environmental label. It’s a pity that the 130 CV version of this willing three-cylinder engine was not chosen, since 100 CV may fall short for many users who might be attracted by the design and the Avenger’s potential as an everyday car… and also for longer trips.

With the petrol engine, the Avenger claims an homologated average consumption of 5.6 l/100 km, which, based on our experience with this engine, will be hard to achieve, with averages around 7 l/100 km being a more realistic expectation. The price of the petrol Avenger in the First Edition version is 25,900 euros. These launch versions come very well equipped, with 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, heated seats, a 10-inch multimedia screen, wireless phone charging, active cruise control, hands-free tailgate, rear camera and blind-spot detection system.
