The new Peugeot 2008 is already available in Spain from 17,550 euros

The SUV segment has just welcomed the new Peugeot 2008, a vehicle that in its first generation managed to captivate a broad audience. Now, the French brand has opted for a much bolder design, interior finishes that are noticeably better and a technological arsenal worthy of higher segments, but will all this be enough for the 2008 to keep enjoying success? To make sure of it, Peugeot has decided to launch, alongside its B-SUV, a generous arsenal of engines that rely on both combustion and electrification. Its price? 17,550 euros.

The French brand has drawn on the design language used in developing the new 508 and 208 to give the 2008 its look. With this premise, we are faced with a much more modern and radical SUV that seeks to break with everything established and anticipate the steps that will be followed not only by the rest of the range, but also by future additions.

Taking advantage of the 2008’s renewal, the engineers at the French brand have incorporated a series of very interesting solutions. In addition to a very wide range of engines, we also find a level 2 autonomous driving system, a clear reflection of the path Peugeot intends to set for creating the models of tomorrow.

This innovation is made possible thanks to what Peugeot calls Drive Assist Plus, an assistant that combines active lane keeping assistance with Lane Position Assist and an adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function. At the same time, the interior has been dressed with a fully digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch touchscreen so as not to fall short of the technological package offered by the new 2008.

Another important novelty is the Safety Plus Pack, a name that hides an advanced emergency braking system capable of operating at speeds between 5 and 140 km/h. But where we really need to focus is on the mechanical section, which features a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine underpinning three variants of 100, 130 and 155 CV; a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that powers two versions of 100 and 130 CV and, finally, an electric motor producing 136 CV and a range of 310 kilometres on the WLTP cycle.

The starting price set by Peugeot for its 2008 is 17,550 euros, a figure associated with the 100 CV petrol variant with manual gearbox. For the time being, the brand has not revealed the price of the other options except for the electric one, which starts from 30,450 euros.
