The new Renault Espace E-Tech opens its order book by revealing its price in Spain

It did not take long: just days after its presentation, Renault has opened the order book in Spain for the new Espace E-Tech, whose prices we already know

Less than a month ago, Renault presented the new Espace E-Tech. The model once recognised as the first MPV in history adopts the new CMF-CD platform to use self-charging hybrid technology, and it abandons its traditional bodywork, now reconfigured as a large SUV that can seat 5 or 7 occupants.

These are not the only significant changes the new Renault Espace E-Tech has received. It features an entirely new design focused on delivering the greatest possible comfort to its occupants, who will also be surrounded by as much technology as the brand can offer. But let’s look more closely at the Espace E-Tech’s equipment, because the brand is already accepting orders and has revealed the prices for each of its trim levels.

The first trim level, and therefore the entry point to the range, is called Techno. One step up is the esprit Alpine trim, which gives the Espace E-Tech a sportier look along with more equipment. Finally, there is the Iconic trim, which focuses on offering the greatest possible technological equipment alongside a more elegant and refined image. Let’s now look in more detail at what each trim includes:

  • Techno:
    • Adaptive Vision LED headlights
    • 19-inch wheels
    • Tinted rear windows
    • Leather-upholstered multifunction steering wheel
    • Interior rear-view mirror with anti-dazzle function
    • Renault Multi-Sense
    • Rear-view camera
    • Front, rear and side parking sensors

Mechanically there are no surprises, and as we already anticipated, the new Renault Espace E-Tech shares the self-charging hybrid system with the Austral, which is available in only one power level. The system consists of a 1,200 cc TCe petrol engine and two electric motors, resulting in a combined output of 200 CV, also managed through the automatic gearbox. It also has a 2 kWh battery that will allow it to run in fully electric mode on certain occasions, which will undoubtedly mean fuel savings in urban driving.

As I mentioned at the beginning, the new Renault Espace E-Tech can already be ordered at the brand’s dealerships in Spain, with prices starting at 43,500 euros for the Techno trim, while the esprit Alpine trim starts at 46,000 euros and, finally, the Iconic trim starts at 48,000 euros.
