Dacia Sandero Electric Cars Compact
The next generation of the Dacia Sandero will include a fully electric version
The electric Sandero will be, together with the Spring, which is already on sale, the second model with this propulsion system available in the Romanian manufacturer’s range
Over the past year, some voices have suggested that Dacia might be planning to sell an electric version of its most popular model, the Sandero. Those rumours have now been confirmed by the head of the Romanian company himself, Denis Le Vot, who, in recent statements to the media, assured that the next generation of the Sandero will be available with a combustion engine, but also with a fully electric propulsion system.
The Dacia Sandero is the best-selling model of the Romanian manufacturer, with global sales of around 235 thousand units last year. In Europe it occupied second place in the 2023 sales ranking, while in Spain it was the overall leader with a total of 27,951 units.

We will still have to wait a few years, however, before we see the electric Dacia Sandero on European streets and roads. Everything points to the next generation of the Sandero arriving on the market in 2027, or even 2028, so this new electric model from the Romanian manufacturer will not be a reality for at least another 3 or 4 years.
Electric for everyone
Le Vot has not revealed any other notable details about the future electric Sandero, beyond assuring that it will be a vehicle with considerable dimensions, capable of offering generous interior space. In this regard, the head of Dacia recalled that affordable electric vehicles should not be limited to small-sized cars developed mainly for urban use. The new Dacia Sandero will precisely be a good example of this claim, combining a moderate price with the versatility of a vehicle aimed at a wide variety of customers.
Just a few days ago, the Romanian manufacturer unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show the new generation of the Spring, the only fully electric model currently available in the brand’s product range. Although Dacia has not yet revealed its price, we can expect it to sit below the 20 thousand euro barrier, keeping it among the most affordable electric models on the market.

During the meeting with the media, Le Vot also mentioned the upcoming launch of a hybrid version of the Duster with a base price below 20 thousand euros, as well as a new SUV based on the CMF-B platform under the name “Bigster”, arriving in 2025. Dacia also plans to restructure its vehicle production over the coming years, moving production of the Sandero and the Jogger to Morocco and limiting production at its main plant in Pitesti, Romania, to the Duster and the new Bigster.
