The Opel Crossland X gets an automatic gearbox for its diesel engine and new upholstery
The new Opel Crossland X updates its diesel powertrain, which will also incorporate an automatic gearbox with the Innovation trim, as well as AGR leather seats

Since its arrival on the market just over a year ago, already under the umbrella of the PSA Group, the Opel Crossland X has become a major draw for potential customers of the German brand, and this small SUV from Opel enjoys great acceptance. Little by little, Opel has been expanding the range of options for the Crossland X, and this autumn those who opt for this SUV will have two more options to choose from.
The most important news Opel brings us for the Crossland X concerns its engines, with a new addition to the diesel range. Opel thus incorporates the new 1,500 cc four-cylinder turbo engine that delivers a power output of 120 CV and a torque of 350 Nm, exclusively paired with the six-speed automatic gearbox and the Start&Stop system. With this combination, the Opel Crossland X achieves a combined consumption of 4 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 105 g/km.

It is worth noting that this engine already meets the Euro 6d-TEMP emissions standard, for which various improvements have been made that also improve its consumption: a new NOx-absorbing oxidation catalyst has been installed, working together with the SCR selective catalytic reduction system; the cylinder head with integrated intake manifold and the crankcase are made of light aluminium alloy; the four valves per cylinder are actuated by two camshafts; the direct injection system via common-rail now operates at pressures of up to 2,000 bar, and fuel injection into the combustion chambers is now carried out through eight-hole injectors.
But the improvements do not end here: for Opel to homologate this engine under the strict Euro 6d-TEMP emissions standard, these continue with the changes made to the exhaust for the optimal treatment of particles harmful to health. In this case, the emissions reduction system (consisting of the passive oxidation catalyst/NOx adsorber, an AdBlue injector, an SCR catalyst and a diesel particulate filter) has been grouped as a single compact unit as close as possible to the engine, so that it works as a cold-start catalyst, thereby reducing NOx emissions at a temperature below the shutdown point of the SCR system.

This new 1.5 diesel engine producing 120 CV can now be installed in the Opel Crossland X with Innovation trim, the second highest in the range, which already comes as standard with quite an interesting level of equipment, including the Visibility Pack, the Flex Floor system for a double loading floor, intelligent speed adaptor, two-zone climate control, lane departure warning, speed sign recognition and the IntelliLink 4.0 infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, among others.
In addition, Opel has also taken the opportunity to launch another equipment novelty, affecting the AGR ergonomic front seats, which are available as an option on the Innovation and Ultimate trims, and which can now be upholstered in leather.
The new Opel Crossland X Innovation 1.5 D with automatic gearbox is now available in Spain at a starting price of 18,300 euros, which already includes taxes and the promotional discount.
