The Porsche 911 GT3 2019 will feature a 550 CV turbocharged engine and PDK gearbox
Porsche has announced the arrival of the next generation of the 911, which will bring changes not only to the engine but also to the rest of the equipment

Although the current engine fitted to the Porsche 911 GT3 is naturally aspirated, the update arriving at the end of this year will leave that type of engine behind. Goodbye to naturally aspirated engines and welcome to the new turbocharged units. It will be a six-cylinder inline engine delivering 550 CV, which means about 50 CV more than the engine it currently uses.
This power will reach the wheels thanks to an eight-speed PDK transmission, which will allow better results in terms of speed, acceleration and control. The manual gearbox appears to be another thing that has become history for this model, since it seems that from now on the only transmission available in the 911 will be this type.

As for the acceleration of the new Porsche 911 GT3, the car will reach 100 km/h in just over three seconds, while 200 km/h will be reached in a nine-second sprint. In addition, the top speed will reach 330 km/h. All of this, of course, if the news coming from the brand’s offices is confirmed, which anticipates that this 911 GT3, representing the 992 generation of the GT3, will be a complete departure from the current one, which belongs to the 991.2 generation.
The new generation of the model can start being reserved at the end of this year, and the first units will reach customers during the first months of 2019. But although there will be a change of generation, the current one does not want to bow out without more. Porsche plans to launch, before its farewell, a GT3 RS version, which will offer superior equipment to the base model and will serve to bridge the gap between the current generation and the next one, which we can already see is arriving with force and updating the Porsche 911 to face the next decade.
