The SsangYong Tivoli adopts LPG for its new 1.2 T 128 CV engine
The new 1.2 T 128 CV engine adopted a few months ago by the SsangYong Tivoli can now also run on LPG and earn the ECO label

LPG is today a very valid option when buying a vehicle that offers low consumption while allowing us to cover a large number of kilometres, in addition to producing fewer emissions and therefore benefiting from the ECO label, which is especially useful in large cities. The only headache can be finding a petrol station that sells this fuel, although it is becoming easier to find as more and more brands and drivers choose LPG.
Last May, SsangYong announced that its Tivoli model would begin fitting the new G12T aluminium block, developed in collaboration with AVL and Bosch: a three-cylinder petrol engine with 128 CV of power and 230 Nm of torque available between 1,750 rpm and 3,500 rpm. SsangYong is a brand that is betting heavily on LPG and now, just like the 1.5 T 163 CV engine in the Tivoli and two other engines available for the Korando, the new 1.2 T 128 CV engine can also run on LPG.

Last year we had the chance to see first-hand how the Tivoli performed on LPG, using the former 1,600 cc naturally aspirated engine, which also delivers 128 CV, and we came away very impressed. With this new engine, and as it is an even more efficient unit, performance will be much better, and it will also let us, at the press of a button inside the car, choose whether to drive on petrol or on LPG. The SsangYong Tivoli is equipped with two tanks: one of 50 litres for petrol and another 46-litre tank in the boot for LPG which, although it reduces capacity somewhat, still leaves us with a generous boot.
This 1.2 T 128 CV LPG-ready engine can be paired with the Line, Urban and Premium trim levels of the SsangYong Tivoli, always working together with the six-speed manual gearbox. The Urban and Limited trims are linked to the 1.5 T 163 CV engine with a six-speed automatic gearbox, although it is worth noting that the Limited trim also lets you choose the six-speed automatic gearbox. Whatever trim you choose, the SsangYong Tivoli comes as standard with the SsangYong SASS suite of driver assistance and safety systems, which includes, among others, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning and Safe Distance Alert.
The SsangYong Tivoli with the 1.2 T LPG engine is now available at Spanish dealerships, with a starting price from 15,150 euros, including campaign offers, for the Line trim.
