The Volkswagen Tayron announces its equipment and prices for Spain, where it is already available

Volkswagen officially opens the order book for the new Tayron, with deliveries starting next February

The All New Volkswagen Tayron

As we told you a few months ago, Volkswagen will have a new addition to its range, replacing the Allspace: it is the Tayron, an SUV that can seat up to seven people and is therefore aimed at families, and which was officially presented just a couple of months ago. With the introductions out of the way, Volkswagen is ready to start sales, which have already begun in Spain.

The Volkswagen Tayron sits between the Tiguan and the Touareg, taking many design cues from both, as can be seen in its bodywork. One could say it is a Tiguan that has been to the gym: the German brand has given the Tayron a total length of 4,790 mm while using the same MQB evo platform.

Inside, the Volkswagen Tayron practically mirrors the Tiguan’s dashboard, apart from small details such as the trim, so its main difference and selling point lies in its passenger capacity and its boot. It can comfortably carry seven people, with a boot capacity of 345 litres. If the third row of seats is folded down, this increases to 885 litres (705 litres in the eHybrid version), and if the second row is also folded, total capacity rises to 2,090 litres.

The All New Volkswagen Tayron

Mechanically, the Volkswagen Tayron offers several options. Petrol engines range from the 150 PS eTSI with a 48 V mild-hybrid system, up to the most powerful option, the 204 PS TSI. If you prefer diesel, only the 2.0 TDI unit is available, in 150 PS and 193 PS outputs. In both petrol and diesel, the most powerful engines can be paired with 4Motion all-wheel drive. Regardless of the engine chosen, the gearbox is the DSG dual-clutch automatic.

The Tayron is also available with eHybrid plug-in hybrid engines with 204 PS and 272 PS outputs, both paired with a 25.7 kWh gross-capacity battery, offering up to 123 kilometres of WLTP-rated fully electric range. This battery, charged with direct current at 50 kW, can go from 0 to 80% in just over 20 minutes.

Although the Volkswagen Tayron has been available for pre-order since October, sales are now open in full, with a starting price of €40,600, which includes sales campaigns and a discount for financing through Volkswagen Financial Services.
