The Zeekr X updates its battery pack and substantially improves charging times
With this update, Zeekr reinforces its commitment to offering compact electric vehicles with cutting-edge technology, high performance and a strong focus on everyday use, positioning the Zeekr X as a benchmark in its segment.
Geely has launched the new 2026 version of the Zeekr X in the European market, just a few months after this model debuted in Germany. This compact electric SUV now incorporates the Golden Battery developed in-house by the brand and integrated into its 400-volt platform, offering a significant technological leap.
Thanks to this new battery pack, the Zeekr X notably improves its fast-charging capabilities, supporting peaks of up to 230 kW of power at a direct-current charging point. The Chinese manufacturer therefore promises that it is now possible to increase the state of charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. This new battery pack, fitted to the Long Range version of the Zeekr X, has a capacity of 61 kWh and uses LFP cells.

The Golden Battery is the proprietary battery developed by Geely and represents a major step forward in lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery technology. It uses the same safe and durable chemistry employed by BYD in its Blade Battery, but optimised by Zeekr to deliver ultra-rapid charging, higher energy density and excellent longevity. It was presented at the end of 2023 and is also known as the Golden Brick Battery – “golden brick battery” – due to the gold-coloured insulating wrapping used on the cells.
More power in both versions of the Zeekr X
Beyond this new battery pack, the new 2026 Zeekr X introduces several additional improvements. On the dynamic side, both trim levels have gained power. The Long Range version now delivers 250 kW, allowing it to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 5.5 seconds. Meanwhile, the Privilege version, with dual electric motors and all-wheel drive (AWD), offers the driver a total of 365 kW of power, enabling it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. Put precisely, the power of both versions has been increased by 50 kW compared with the models previously on sale.

The improvements the 2026 Zeekr X has received, however, do not affect only its technical specifications. The interior has also been revised. The centre console features a more modern and minimalist design, new storage spaces have been added, and the boot has grown by 47 litres, now reaching a total capacity of 404 litres. What all these changes have not modified, however, is the car’s distinctive Scandinavian design style, clean and elegant, which has been one of its hallmarks since launch.
