Not a week goes by without us learning about the launch of a new affordable electric car, with city-ready performance and a compact size. These cars usually reach us from China and, for the time being, are not available on the European market. But this time, the small electric city car we have come to know comes from Germany.

It is the Ari 902, an electric city car that has been marketed by Ari Motors, a company specialized in the marketing of light vehicles. This model is the latest the company has launched, and with it they have achieved something important: a vehicle that, although small, has a large load capacity for its size.

The Ari 902 is a two-seater that does without rear seats. In their place, there is a boot with a capacity of 766 litres. This figure is reached when the driver’s seat is folded down. That said, the maximum payload is 190 kilos, which is enough for any activity you may want to carry out, such as transporting parcels for last-mile delivery or food delivery. Or going shopping, for example.

It measures 2.97 metres in length, but when viewed from the front it has a very attractive and carefully designed look and appears larger than it is. As for the motor, it is equipped with a 15 kW motor, equivalent to 20 CV. This allows the Ari 902 to reach a top speed of 90 km/h, more than enough for urban and short-distance interurban journeys.

As for the battery, the model comes with three battery packs. The smallest has a capacity of 9.5 kWh, while the intermediate level offers 10.35 kWh. The highest level features an 18 kWh battery pack. The range offered by the model is between 110 and 200 kilometres on a single charge, depending on the battery chosen.

As for equipment, it has a rear camera to make parking easier. The instrumentation is digital and includes Bluetooth connectivity. There are three versions available in Germany: the Pure, priced at 13,990 euros. The Comfort variant, the best equipped, is priced at 15,990 euros. It comes with air conditioning and power steering as standard, as does the Cargo. This one has anchor points to secure the load better and is somewhat more expensive than the basic model.
