This electric camper van with modifications to convert it into a camper has been presented as a prototype to show what will arrive in the near future.

The multinational Geely has been characterized by launching several brands, each one specialized in a different type of vehicle. One of those brands is Farizon Auto, which specializes in manufacturing electric vehicles. This is the case of the Super Van, an electric van that the new Geely brand has presented, which also has a camper version. This is the Farizon Auto Sportsvan, which has just been presented and promises a good camping experience.

The electric camper van offers a very attractive, modern and bold image. At the front, the headlights stand out, small and positioned below the windshield. This is practically vertical, offering a wide view of the road. The roof is higher than in the commercial version, to offer more interior space and allow better livability.

The company has only published images of the front cabin, leaving the camper equipment of the rear part for later. The driver’s position is quite minimalist and has few details. The air vents are integrated into the dashboard and blend in well with it.

There are three screens in the cabin. One shows the instrumentation, while two others are in a central position. But the Farizon Auto Sportsvan prototype offers something more, which makes it very interesting.

The fact is that it is a modular vehicle. It is divided into two parts, a chassis and the cabin module. The platform is the key, since it has been designed with elements that favor this configuration. Specifically, the brakes and steering are of the drive-by-wire type. That is, they connect these elements to the driver’s position through wires, which transmit commands in the form of electrical impulses, not through conventional mechanics.

As for the powertrain, it has not been made public, although it is expected to have two electric motors, one on each axle, so it would have all-wheel drive. It is also expected to have two batteries, which would be removable and could be replaced with charged ones, speeding up the charging process.

In addition, the charging system is of V2L type, with a total power of 10 kW, to supply energy to external electrical devices. On top of all this, the camper vehicle will include an ethanol range extender, which will offer a very attractive range without causing many emissions problems.

It is not known when this prototype will go into production, but the brand itself is expected to reach Europe in 2024, so we will soon be able to know more about it.
