Twisted TBug, the return of the Baja Bug from a bold and modern point of view
This new version of the Beetle, based on the Baja Bug version that became popular during the 1980s, offers cutting-edge technology beneath the model’s classic look.

Not long ago, the Volkswagen Beetle was an option for those who wanted a practical, simple car with a very tight price. The old Beetle disappeared, and its reinterpretation did not enjoy the success of its predecessor. But the Beetle refuses to die, even if only through limited versions built by third parties. One of the most cherished versions of this model was the Baja Beetle, a version designed to tackle rough terrain and give everything on the sand tracks and dunes of California.
This version, more radical than a traditional Beetle could ever be, has been revived by Twisted, a company that often works with the Land Rover Defender. This time, it has chosen to revive this off-road model and give it an elegant, bold and, above all, modern touch, for customers who want to enjoy a unique model thanks to all the personalisation possibilities.

A bold look with a modern heart
The look of the Twisted TBug is as spectacular and eye-catching as it was in its day. It features widened wheel arches, greater ground clearance and several bold colour combinations to set its own style. That image has emerged from the memories of Charles Fawcett, owner of Twisted, who enjoyed the image of these vehicles as a child. From those memories came the possibility of recreating this model and bringing it up to date.
Beneath its bold appearance we find the typical Beetle engine, although improved and more powerful. That said, its output could not be raised above 80 CV. This is not a problem, because power is not what this version is about. Fun at the beach and the experience of driving this model come before speed and power.
The Beetle’s chassis has been completely reworked, and the suspension has been replaced with units offering greater travel. The bumper has been redesigned, and the front headlights have been reinterpreted and use LED technology. There is no set price for this model, as everything depends on the level of personalisation that can be selected on the manufacturer’s website. That said, we do not expect it to have a low price tag, but the experience of driving this reimagined classic will certainly be worth it for many.
