Audi RS 3 Sportback by Oettinger. Is it possible to have 750 horsepower in a compact car?

The Audi A3 range includes two sporty versions, the Audi S3 and Audi RS 3 Sportback, which, while not radical variants that leave you with serious back pain after more than two hours of driving, are very effective and allow for high cornering speeds without much fuss, with everything under control.

But those are the standard variants as the manufacturer sells them. In the most performance-oriented one, the Audi RS 3 Sportback, there is a 2,500 cc five-cylinder TFSI that produces 367 horsepower and 465 Nm of torque, which is then distributed to all four wheels.

This car has been the basis for countless modifications by various tuners, but we had never seen characteristics as extreme as those offered by Oettinger. Depending on your tastes and what you want to boost in your Audi RS 3, you can choose between four different stages.

In the first stage, power rises from the stock 367 horsepower to 430. A respectable figure that gives RS 3 owners who have grown tired of the standard output new sensations thanks to those extra 63 horsepower and a total of 625 Nm, for a price of 2,640 euros.

If that seems too little and you want an even bigger leap, stage 2 raises output to 520 horsepower and torque to 680 Nm. In this way, the sporty compact Audi is able to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, shaving a full second off the standard model’s time and reaching a top speed of no less than 310 kilometers per hour. The price in this case sits at around 11,000 euros.

Oettinger has thought of everyone, and perhaps there are some people in the world whose thirst for power won’t be quenched by 520 horsepower. Although the tuner has not disclosed many details, it claims to have two more radical stages. The third raises the output of the 2.5 TFSI to 650 horsepower and 750 Nm, while the fourth and most extreme ends with an outrageous output of 750 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. And all of this is extracted from a 2,500 cc engine, meaning its specific output is 300 horsepower per liter of displacement.
