Audi TT Tourist Trophy: the best special edition to bid farewell to the TT

Audi Tt Edicion Tourist Trophy

Following the update it received in 2018, based on the generation presented in 2014, it seems that the Audi TT is nearing its farewell. And a great deal is being speculated about its possible successor. It seems clear that it will be a 100% electric rear-wheel drive car, but there is even talk that Audi could launch a new model to replace two cars, the TT Coupé and the A5 Coupé… and that it would not be a coupé. Perhaps a crossover? We will have to wait a little, but the outcome is not far off: the new car would arrive in 2023.

Meanwhile, to face this final stretch of its long commercial life (the first Audi TT was presented in 1998), Audi is launching a new special edition of the TT Coupé and simplifying the range by eliminating all the equipment versions that were offered until now, in addition to announcing the end of production of the Audi TT Roadster. Here you can read the road test of the Audi TT Roadster 20th Anniversary, the last edition launched on this convertible body.

The new special edition of the TT Coupé is named Tourist Trophy, in tribute to the legendary race held on the Isle of Man, which inspired the name of the compact sports car from the brand of the four rings. The Audi TT RS Coupé remains in the range.

Two petrol engines, comprehensive standard equipment

For this new edition you can choose between two mechanical options: the 40 TFSI S tronic with 145 kW (197 CV) and front-wheel drive, and the 45 TFSI quattro S tronic with 180 kW (245 CV), paired with four-wheel drive. The price in the first case starts at 56,260 euros, and from 65,230 euros for the more powerful version.

The highlight of the Audi TT Tourist Trophy is its comprehensive standard equipment. According to the brand, the price of this edition represents up to a 50% saving compared with the price of all the items it includes if they were ordered individually on a base-trim Audi TT Coupé; something that is no longer possible, as there are no further options to choose from in the range other than this Tourist Trophy.

Outside, the sporty look of the TT Coupé is enhanced by the 19-inch Audi Sport wheels in anthracite black finish, red brake calipers, the rear spoiler and black exhaust outlets, as well as the S line exterior sport packages and the black optic plus package. The Matrix LED headlights are also part of the standard equipment, and you can choose from three body colours: red, grey or white.

Inside, the highlights are the Alcantara and leather upholstery with contrast stitching, the steering wheel also trimmed in Alcantara with a marker at 12 o’clock, and grey aluminium decorative inserts. Other standard features include the Audi virtual cockpit, the Audi sound system and the Audi parking system plus.
