Amarok Volkswagen Comerciales Range / versions Pick-up
Facelift for the Volkswagen Amarok and a new 3.0-litre V6 engine

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles presents the facelift seen in these images of the Volkswagen Amarok pick-up. Aesthetically it does not differ much, but it receives considerable changes to its mechanical components.
In these exterior images we can see slight modifications to the front end following the refresh. These mainly affect the bumper, the bi-xenon headlights and the main grille. On the opposite side, the rear, the only change visible at first glance is the darkening of the light clusters, along with the new engine badging and the “4Motion” decals.
The interior improves its presence and brings its design closer to that of a passenger car, with both the instrument cluster and the new seats offering greater ergonomics.

As we mentioned in the first paragraph, the new Volkswagen Amarok receives important changes under the bonnet. The truth is that it now replaces the previous 180 hp, 420 Nm twin-turbo 2.0 TDI four-cylinder with a V6 block.
This new engine is available with a wide range of power outputs, whereas previously only the aforementioned 180 hp version was offered. Customers of this pick-up can now choose between 163, 204 and 224 hp of maximum power. A more than generous offer for a commercial vehicle.
According to Volkswagen, in the most powerful variant the maximum torque the new Amarok can develop is 550 Nm, and this figure is available from just 1,500 rpm. As for transmissions, it will be offered with both a six-speed manual gearbox and an eight-speed automatic. With the manual, engine power is sent to the rear axle, although the “4Motion” all-wheel drive with a Torsen centre differential can optionally be specified. With the automatic gearbox, “4Motion” all-wheel drive is mandatory.
As for consumption, the most powerful version with the automatic gearbox is homologated at 7.6 litres of diesel per 100 kilometres.

Last, but by no means least, the increase in towing capacity of this Volkswagen Amarok following the facelift deserves highlighting. It can now tow a maximum load of 3.5 tonnes, that is, 300 kilos more than before.
Its arrival on the European market is scheduled for the end of summer.
