FIAT unveils the Dolce Vita limited edition exclusively for the 500 Hybrid Cabrio

FIAT is back with the 500 Dolce Vita limited edition, which will arrive alongside the 500 3+1 version joining the rest of the range

Fiat 500 Dolce Vita (3)

After the Second World War and the economic recovery that followed in Italy, a period of prosperity came in the 1960s known as La Dolce Vita, a term you have probably heard before, which essentially refers to a carefree lifestyle devoted to worldly pleasures, historically centred on Rome, the Italian capital being the epicentre of this movement.

Fiat is one of those Italian brands that draws on this term to refer to certain special or limited editions designed to evoke the spirit of La Dolce Vita, models inspired by summers on the Italian coast and by the relaxed sophistication of the 1960s, with a distinctive Mediterranean spirit. Fiat has used it before on models such as the 500 and 500X, and once again the Fiat 500 takes centre stage in a new chapter of the Dolce Vita limited edition.

On the outside of the Fiat 500 Dolce Vita, a distinctive style sets it apart from the rest of the range, including the use of chrome-finished caps on the wing mirrors and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, as well as LED lights at both front and rear and, as this is the Cabrio version, a fabric roof in an exclusive blue colour for this edition, all complemented by the Dolce Vita badge fitted on the sides.

Moving inside the Fiat 500 Dolce Vita, this limited edition features a houndstooth-pattern fabric upholstery with a leather-like effect and the “500” logo embroidered on the seatbacks. It also comes with extended standard equipment, including a DAB digital radio with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, automatic climate control, rain sensor and rear parking sensors.

Mechanically there is nothing new. Recall that in its Hybrid configuration it features a three-cylinder, 1,000 cc engine delivering 65 CV and a torque output of 92 CV, with 48 V mild-hybrid technology, which is why it carries the ECO label from the DGT. Thanks to this powertrain, the Fiat 500 Hybrid certifies a combined consumption of 5.2 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 117 g/km under the WLTP cycle.

With the launch of the Dolce Vita limited edition, Fiat has also taken the opportunity to announce the launch of the 3+1 version, which features a small rear door with hinges on the passenger side to make access to the rear seats easier. The Fiat 500 3+1 will also be available in the trim levels already offered across the rest of the range.
