Ford GT Mk2, 700 CV of untamed power, track use only
Named the Ford GT Mk2, it carries a price tag of one million euros and is intended exclusively for the track.

We already knew that a new version of the Ford GT would be unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but we didn’t expect it to be a version exclusively for the track. Named Ford GT Mk2, it is an upgraded version of the supercar that cannot be driven on public roads.
The brand with the blue oval is asking a staggering one million euros for each of the 45 units it will release onto the market. In exchange for this hefty sum, which runs to seven figures, customers get a supercar developed by the brand’s motorsport division, Ford Performance, and its engineering partner Multimatic, with aerodynamic updates and more power.

This new supercar with its astronomical price is fitted with a 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 engine that has been optimised to deliver around 700 CV. This makes it 200 CV more powerful than the racing-regulation-restricted car, and makes the Ford GT Mk2 the most powerful version of the legendary Ford GT.
The unit is paired with the same seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, though with some changes to cope with the extra output.

Ford GT Mk2, a new beast for the track
Engine cooling has been improved by adding an externally mounted charge air cooler with water-spray technology. This system sprays water in high-temperature situations, while the auxiliary engine, clutch and transmission coolers are fed fresh air through the roof. Braking power has also been improved with the addition of the carbon-ceramic brakes from the road car.
The vehicle rides on 19-inch forged aluminium wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport GT tyres. The visual upgrades play a bigger role in telling the average track enthusiast that this is a more special version of the supercar. The new front splitter, diffuser, fender louvres, dive planes and rear wing allow the Ford GT Mk2 to generate 400% more downforce than the road-legal Ford GT.

In addition, the racing suspension, which drops the adjustable ride height, and the driving modes save more than 90 kilograms in weight and allow it to pull more than 2G of lateral grip. Keeping the driver firmly held in the racing bucket seat, Sparco, and the six-point safety harness is one of the brand’s goals. The MoTeC system also provides vital information, which doubles as a display for the reversing camera. If the owner wishes, a passenger seat can be added as an optional extra.
The Ford GT Mk2 begins its life in Markham, Ontario, alongside the road-legal version. It is then sent to Multimatic, where this track weapon is created.
