Galaxy, Geely's new brand dedicated to electric cars
The Chinese multinational is preparing the launch of an exclusive brand of electrified cars, plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles, with two models.

Many automotive companies want to distinguish their electric models from those using combustion engines. So they create new brands that encompass these new battery-powered models. This is the strategy being followed by Geely, for example. The brand is preparing its own sub-brand that will frame this type of model for the European market.
The brand had been known for some time, since the first prototype that would shape its first electric model was announced. However, there was no confirmation that the brand would be launched in our market. Now, Galaxy has just announced a second electric model, so the arrival of the brand and its electric cars is even closer.

The first vehicle planned to fall within this new brand dedicated to plug-in hybrid and electric cars was the Galaxy L7. This is a plug-in hybrid SUV built on the E-CMA platform, which it shares with Volvo, also owned by Geely. It features a 1.5-litre combustion engine with a three-mode DHT Pro hybrid transmission.
The plug-in hybrid system is called NordThor 8848, which uses both motors and will offer a total range of 1,400 kilometres. The characteristics of the electric motor are not yet known, but its performance is expected to be quite impressive.

It will feature equipment already known from other vehicles in the group’s various brands, with fairly complete technology including a digital instrument cluster, the multimedia screen and even a head-up display of 25.6 inches.
As for the second model, it is a saloon that will have a purely electric drive system. The front features L-shaped LED lights and an air intake for cooling made up of a small horizontal opening in the lower part.
The side features a quite sporty and dynamic look, while at the rear are the light clusters, also made up of LED lights, which run from end to end of the car. Its appearance may recall the Polestar 2, so it would be an alternative to this Swedish model and would represent a new rival to the Tesla Model 3.
In any case, the first model would be the L7, which would be officially presented in the coming months and begin sales at the end of this year or the beginning of next. We will be keeping an eye out, because all the specifications of both models remain to be revealed and, above all, their price.
