Italdesign Zerouno: an exclusive supercar priced at 1.6 million euros, but is it really worth that amount?

The Italdesign Zerouno is the result of the collaboration between the VAG group and Giugiaro. The five units have been sold for 1.6 million euros each, but do they cost what they are worth?

Supercars are a type of vehicle that constantly compete with one another with the aim of proving which is the fastest or the most exclusive. Without a doubt, this is something that concerns all manufacturers of luxury models and, on certain occasions, they surpass themselves with unique creations. The Zerouno is a clear example, whose conception stems from the idea of pushing creativity and exclusivity to the limit by shaping a very special supercar.

The Zerouno came about through the participation of the VAG group with Italdesign, the design house of the famous and acclaimed Giorgetto Giugiaro. The Italian designer has spent years shaping some of the most iconic vehicles in history, and the Zerouno was no exception. Exclusivity overflows in the creation of this new supercar and, of course, it comes with a price. Specifically, only five units of the Italdesign Zerouno have been built, and each one has been sold for an estimated 1.6 million euros, but does it really cost what it is worth?

As we have already mentioned, the Zerouno is heavily influenced by the VAG group, so we find many elements present in other sports cars from the brands that make up this company. Aesthetically, Italdesign has done a great job, ensuring it has a unique exterior. It features a series of elements that give the Zerouno a great sporty and aggressive character, but the most interesting aspect lies in its mechanics.

As for its engine, we find a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 that powers both the Lamborghini Huracán and the Audi R8 V10 plus. This means it is capable of producing a maximum output of 610 CV and reaching 100 km/h in 3 seconds, very impressive figures accompanied by the supercar’s outstanding aerodynamics. Furthermore, the transmission, platform and several technological elements are also common to the two models mentioned above.

Without a doubt, the Zerouno is an engineering feat and features a series of characteristics that help justify its exclusivity, but what about its price? We have before us a mechanical setup that perfectly meets the needs of a supercar, but the premium we must pay for the extraordinary Zerouno can be justified by its limited production run and its striking styling, which differs from what we see in the R8 and the Huracán. Because of this combination of differences, the Italdesign deserves our acclaim and respect, since the level of exclusivity it achieves is worthy of admiration.
