KG Mobility brings back the Actyon, Ssangyong's former SUV, but only in Korea
KG Mobility’s new SUV, formerly the Ssangyong, revives the name of an earlier model that was discontinued some time ago and returns in 2024.

In 2005, Ssangyong launched the Actyon, an SUV that aimed to offer an attractive image and a highly appealing level of functionality. The model spent a few years on the international market before fading into oblivion. Now, Ssangyong no longer exists and is transitioning to the KG Mobility brand. And the new Actyon has a place in that change.
A few months ago, rumors began about the return of this model, thanks to leaks that came out of Korea. Now we know more details about this comeback and can see it ready to hit the Korean market. It has left its previous look behind to move closer to the image of the Torres, the model that recently debuted under the new badge.

The differences from the Torres are seen in the LED light signature, the bumpers with a new design, and the slightly inclined rear window. The 20-inch wheels are fitted as standard on all versions, which allows it to have voluminous and powerful proportions.
The Actyon measures 4,740 millimeters in length, 1,920 millimeters in width and 1,680 millimeters in height. The wheelbase is 2,680 millimeters, identical to that of the Torres. It is slightly longer and wider than the Torres, though a little lower.

Technology-focused interior
Inside, occupants will find two 12.3-inch screens. The central multimedia screen is slightly tilted toward the driver for better visual access. The upholstery is made of quilted leather with suede-style finishes, available in black and red or Camel and beige. Both options are combined with carbon fiber or black wood elements.
The driver can choose from 32 ambient lighting options, which add a more pleasant touch to the drive. The steering wheel has a flat-bottom design and integrated controls. The gear lever has a design that mimics crystal, and there is a wireless charger in the console. In terms of safety, several ADAS features assist the driver on the road.
The boot offers a generous 668 liters of space, although with the rear seats folded it reaches 1,568 liters.
Engines
The Actyon shares its platform with the Torres, which allows it to have a 1.5-liter four-cylinder GDi petrol engine with a turbocharger. This unit delivers 168 CV of power and 280 Nm of torque. The automatic gearbox has six speeds, and drive can be either front-wheel or all-wheel.
In the near future it could feature the electric motor from the Torres EVX, although no timeline has been announced for this. For now, it will not be sold outside the Korean market, though it is expected to reach other countries by the end of 2024.
