Koenigsegg opens new factory with included test track

The Swedish supercar maker has just opened new facilities of more than 30,000 square metres with every kind of luxury

Fábrica Koenigsegg

Koenigsegg is without doubt one of the largest supercar manufacturers in the world and, as such, it must have one of the most advanced factories in order to develop cars that meet the demanding requirements needed to stand up to major rivals such as Bugatti.

To this end, the Swedish company has just unveiled its new factory of more than 30,000 square metres, where it will develop its long-awaited Koenigsegg Gemera. A hybrid supercar with around 1,700 CV, room for up to four occupants and a truly spectacular design.

All kinds of services

But without straying too far from the subject, Koenigsegg’s new factory forms part of its latest strategic growth plan, and within it we will find a wide range of facilities, from showrooms and offices to production plants and even a test track to push its creations to the limit.

As well as featuring numerous green areas as it is located in Vallhall park, a site where fighter jets of the Swedish Army were parked a few years ago, the layout of Koenigsegg’s factory is truly unusual, built like an accordion of overlapping halls to allow more natural light in and make better use of the space.

In addition to the park’s green areas, the brand also plans to install a solar panel system across the entire factory to make the facilities CO2 neutral and move towards a future that is more respectful of the environment.

Tailored to customers

Another of our favourite parts of the new factory is the modern showroom, where customers will be able to personalise every last detail of their supercars. From the colours and materials of the interior, exterior colour, wheels, brake calipers and other elements, to turn each car into a one-off piece.

With all of this, Koenigsegg will add to its team some 250 workers and engineers before 2023, allowing this facility together with the 11,000 square metre one in Ängelholm to be the cradle of a long and incredible saga of hypercars for many years to come.
