Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato, the off-road version of the supercar, is officially unveiled for the first time
Lamborghini has shown, through a video, the Huracán Sterrato, an off-road version of the Italian supercar that will be presented in the coming months

The Lamborghini Huracán has earned its place as one of the iconic models of the Italian brand. Only a few months ago, the 20,000th unit rolled off the production line in Sant’Agata Bolognese, a Huracán STO. At first glance this figure may not seem very high, given that sales began in 2014, but we must bear in mind that this is a highly exclusive supercar, within reach of only a few wallets.
In time, the Huracán will become even more exclusive and, as we have already reported, it is very close to the end of its life cycle and will have a successor which, if we stick to Lamborghini’s plans, will arrive with hybrid powertrain, so it will no longer be what we know today. That is why Lamborghini is stretching the formula as far as possible with limited and special editions, or with the creation we show you alongside these lines: the Huracán Sterrato.

It was in the summer of 2019 that Lamborghini surprised everyone with the Huracán Sterrato Concept, a prototype introduced to the world through a set of renders that showed a Huracán with a clear off-road vocation. Numerous elements typical of an off-roader appeared on this prototype: raised ride height and, under the bonnet, the ingredients we already know, all to create a beast that is also at home off the asphalt.

Lamborghini has followed the project step by step to bring the Huracán Sterrato to reality, undoubtedly a fine final tribute to this supercar, although I am sure it will not be the last homage it receives before its end arrives. In a video titled “Beyond The Concrete” Lamborghini shows the Huracán Sterrato enjoying itself off the asphalt, with camouflage over its bodywork to hide the details, yet it still lets us anticipate a few things.

What we can see is a Huracán Sterrato that, in principle, remains quite faithful to the prototype that Lamborghini unveiled in 2019. The front end is slightly redesigned, with new air intakes and auxiliary lights set into the upper part of the bumper, as well as roof bars that will likely be used to mount LED light bars or other auxiliary equipment. The wheel arches are widened and in a different colour to the bodywork, which also serves to protect against even wider tyres, probably mixed-tread ones, and the ride height is raised compared with a standard Huracán.

For now Lamborghini has not revealed what lies under the bonnet, but everything points to the 5,200 cc V10 that produces 640 CV and a torque of 600 Nm, the engine found in versions such as the EVO, Tecnica or STO. In any case, Lamborghini is expected to present the Huracán Sterrato in the coming months, when we will see it in all its glory and finally be certain of what it offers.
