Mercedes-AMG E63 by Posaidon, very, very wild with its 1,020 horsepower

While fans of the AMG versions of the Mercedes await the arrival of the most powerful E-Class in the Mercedes range, Posaidon brings out its full arsenal and gives us this preparation for the AMG E63 based on the now-old E-Class body.

This time it wasn’t Brabus that experimented and pushed to the limit the modification possibilities of a model from the German brand, but Poseidon. And boy, did they do it. The tuner has achieved a power figure of 1,020 horsepower in the model they have named RS850+. But first let’s look at the styling, which is also outstanding thanks to its striking aggressiveness and all the carbon fiber it includes.

The body has a very dynamic and aggressive look, far from the more conventional E-Class models where elegance is the main goal. Look at the front. It features three huge air intakes in the lower section and an aerodynamic lip at the very bottom of the bumper. The ever-elegant Mercedes grille has been removed entirely and replaced with a small honeycomb mesh. The bonnet is now much more robust, has air outlets and comes in two colours.

On the side we see huge black-painted wheels, which protect large carbon-ceramic brake discs and 6-piston calipers at the front and 4-piston calipers at the rear painted in blue, along with specific side skirts. At the back, the diffuser is very pronounced and houses four square exhaust outlets. On the boot lid there is a spoiler.

If we open the door we’ll be in for a surprise in the cabin. The E-Class is a five-seater, but in this preparation the rear seats have been removed; the two front seats that remain, however, have a presence that is hard to improve upon. The goal is none other than to save every possible gram, which is also why the interior panelling on the rear doors has disappeared.

The exterior and cabin surprised us a great deal in this Posaidon preparation of the Mercedes AMG E63, but the most spectacular thing of all is found in its engine. The heart of the sports saloon has received a lot of “anabolic steroids” with its internal parts replaced. As a result, the 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 raises its output to 1,020 horsepower. Yes, we haven’t made a mistake, 1,020 horsepower. The torque, for its part, peaks at 1,400 Nm.

The 1,020 horsepower together with the 1,400 Nm and the gearbox reinforced to withstand this enormous energy allow it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. The top speed is limited, but not to 250 km/h: it is capped at almost 370 km/h. The tuner claims this limit exists because they cannot guarantee the tyres will work properly much beyond that speed.
