MG Pilot: high-end ADAS systems across all models of the brand
MG has launched two electric models that feature an advanced ADAS suite grouped under the MG Pilot assistance package, offering greater safety.

Three months have already passed since the arrival of MG and its new electrified models on the Spanish market. For now, two of them are available at dealerships: the MG ZS EV, a fully electric model, and the plug-in hybrid MG EHS. Two more models will arrive soon, the MARVEL R Electric and the MG 5 Electric. All of these models come standard with MG Pilot, a system of driver assistance features, known as ADAS, included as standard equipment.
This ADAS suite debuted on the MG ZS EV and is made up of several components that enable Level 2 autonomous driving when the car is moving at speeds between 0 and 60 km/h. With them, driving a MG model becomes safer and more comfortable for the driver.

What the MG Pilot includes
On the MG ZS EV, MG Pilot includes the following driver assistance systems:
- Heavy Traffic and Traffic Jam Assist: continuously monitors the speed of the vehicle ahead, maintains the distance to it, and controls acceleration, braking and steering to keep the car within its lane.
- Intelligent Speed Limit Assist: automatically detects speed limit signs and alerts the driver to the specific speed limit with a symbol on the instrument cluster.
- Automatic Emergency Braking: when driving below 20 km/h, the vehicle brakes automatically to avoid a collision with another vehicle or a pedestrian. The system also activates to reduce the force and severity of the impact at higher speeds.
- Adaptive Cruise Control: an advanced version of cruise control. It maintains the set speed and adapts it according to the vehicles ahead.
- Intelligent High Beam Control: at night, the system recognises traffic and automatically adjusts the headlights, switching between low and high beams to improve visibility without dazzling other drivers.
- Lane Keeping Assist: the wide-angle camera monitors the vehicle’s position within the lane and, if an unintended lane departure occurs, warns the driver with audible signals and steering wheel vibration.
- Blind Spot Detection: thanks to various sensors that monitor the area around the vehicle, it warns the driver with a visual signal in the mirror if there is a vehicle that cannot be seen directly, helping to avoid collisions when changing lanes.
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert: sends an alert to the driver when a vehicle or pedestrian approaches from the rear of the car while reversing.

On the MG EHS, MG Pilot includes some additional ADAS features on top of the above. These are the extra ADAS features found on this model.

Safety for the car and its occupants
For MG, safety is important, both for the occupants of the vehicle and for others. Both models have achieved five stars in Euro NCAP, which guarantees a design focused on occupant protection and damage reduction. In addition, it includes several elements that protect the battery and prevent it from being damaged in the event of any impact or accident.
