Microlino 2.0, a small bubble car for getting around with freedom
This small electric city car, a bubble-car style vehicle with a front-hinged door, is now open for reservations and promises clean, efficient urban mobility

Urban mobility has become the battleground for many brands, whose usual offerings cannot cope with the new emissions regulations. These vehicles are being removed from catalogues and replaced by other types of vehicle designed exclusively for the city, suited to short journeys and to parking in genuinely surprising spaces. One of those models is the Microlino 2.0.
This model is an update of a prototype presented four years ago, improved to offer greater driving comfort, more range and more safety. The new version of this urban electric car has just been unveiled and has generated considerable interest, even though it is an electric quadricycle with limited capacity and restricted range.

Greater visibility
The lighting design has been reworked, with more powerful headlights so that drivers can be seen better and see more easily themselves. At the rear there are also new light clusters that make the car visible from further away. At the front, the front pillars have been made narrower, which eliminates the annoying blind spots.
Another novelty compared with its predecessor is that the Microlino 2.0 no longer has the steering wheel mounted on the door; instead it sits on a new steering column. To make getting in and out easier, this bar with the wheel folds away, improving access.

MICROLINO 2.0 Y MICROLETTA
As for the electric motor, this too has been improved. It now delivers 11 kW, which is 15 CV of power, more than enough for the car’s light weight and the speeds it reaches on these urban journeys. Incidentally, it has a top speed of 90 km/h, so it is more than sufficient for getting around the city with ease.
Straight away, the Microlino 2.0 uses an 8 kWh battery, enough to offer a range of 125 kilometres on a full charge. If that is not enough, an optional battery with a capacity of 14.4 kWh is available, which extends the range up to 200 kilometres, allowing for greater freedom of movement.
It will launch in several markets at a price of 12,000 euros, although it is not the only news from the manufacturers. The electric tricycle called the Microletta is also quite advanced and has a pre-launch price of 4,900 euros. It will have a top speed of 80 km/h and can be driven with a car licence, without needing a motorcycle licence.
