New 1.6L BlueHDi engine and new EAT6 gearbox for the Peugeot 308
EAT6 gearbox
The car that was named Car of the Year in Europe 2014, incorporates the latest innovations from Peugeot. The 308 debuts a new engine and a new gearbox. These are the 120 CV 1.6L BlueHDi engine and the six-speed EAT6 automatic gearbox with torque converter. This combination is available for the Style special edition on both the SW estate bodywork and the saloon. In this way, the French brand’s compact benefits from an efficient and high-performing option.
The EAT6 gearbox with torque converter has been designed to improve its performance by limiting internal friction and also through the use of lock-up converters that prevent slippage. Thanks to the Quick Shift technology, it offers greater driving comfort, making gear changes quick and smooth.
The BlueHDi technology achieves a reduction of up to 90% in nitrogen oxide (NOx), optimisation of CO2 emissions and fuel consumption, as well as a reduction of 99.9% in particulates. It combines three key elements to carry out this process: the diesel particulate filter (DPF) with additive, the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) catalyst and the Stop & Start system.
The Peugeot 308 combined with the 1.6L BlueHDi 120 engine, which meets the strict Euro6 anti-pollution regulations, and with the EAT6 gearbox achieves truly low figures for fuel consumption, 3.5 l/100 km, and CO2 emissions of 96 g/km. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds.
The new combination of the 120 CV 1.6L BlueHDi engine with the EAT6 gearbox is available in the Peugeot 308 Style from 19,800 euros (prices include the PIVE scheme and financing through Peugeot Financiación Incluido).
