Porsche Boxes, the brand's most iconic models go on display in Madrid
El Corte Inglés on Paseo de la Castellana hosts the Porsche Boxes exhibition, a showcase of several iconic cars from the brand, both past and present.

The great models of Porsche are highly remarkable cars that form part of the brand’s history and that many of its followers know and want to see. Six of these vehicles can be visited over several days at Porsche Boxes, a brand exhibition located at El Corte Inglés on Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid. These cars are not only part of Porsche’s past history, but also of its present. Or even of its future.
And this is because among these models we find three models that have not yet been launched in Spain. Among them is a unit of the Porsche Taycan, but also a Porsche 911 GT3 and a Porsche 718 Boxster 25th Anniversary. Three cars we are eager to see, and these models shape the future of the German brand.

More iconic cars
Other cars that have been on the Spanish market are also on display, although they are also hard to find at present. A Porsche 911 Turbo S from the 992 generation, the Porsche Cayenne Transsyberia that won this competition, and the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup from the 991 series. These six models surround a seventh, a Porsche Taycan with its bodywork painted in the Pink Pig livery worn by one of the Porsche 917s that took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1971.

This has a curious story: Antonie Lapine, Head of Design at the time, became angry with the company over several decisions and painted on the bodywork the cutaway of a pig with the German names of each part. This idea, born out of a fit of temper, has gone down in the brand’s history and has become a kind of icon paid tribute to with this Taycan.
But there are more notable cars from Porsche’s history, and more recent ones. A Taycan is positioned to serve as a photocall for visitors, and in a prominent spot are the plug-in hybrid versions of the Cayenne and Panamera, which have become the best-selling versions of each model.
The Porsche Macan Tribute is also on this list. The bodywork of these two models is decorated with vinyls recreating two historic liveries. The first is the Porsche 917 LH “Hippie“, also created by Antonie Lapine, and the other is the John Player Special livery, with gold letters on a black background, which was very popular on many racing cars in the 1970s and 1980s.
In addition, there are two prepared Taycans so that visitors who wish to can take a short ride aboard them. An opportunity that not many people will get to enjoy. The exhibition is complemented by several metal plaques showing various milestones of the brand, documented with photographs.
Admission to the exhibition is free and it will be open from 2 to 13 June.
