The Caterham Seven, that compact rear-wheel-drive vehicle that can bring a smile to your face, debuts three new variants ranging from 135 CV to 210 CV. At the extremes, the Seven 160 remains as the entry-level version and the monstrous 620R, the most powerful Seven ever built, with a supercharged engine producing 310 CV.

The Caterham Seven 270 will be the next option available in the price and power range. It features a state-of-the-art 1.6-litre engine Ford with variable valve timing technology, which delivers 135 CV and can reach 100 km/h in exactly 5.0 seconds. This variant improves power by 55 CV and acceleration by 1.9 seconds compared to the modest Seven 160.

Continuing up the scale, the Caterham Seven 360 will be the next option. Its power unit is the original-equipment block Ford Duratec 2.0-litre, with 180 CV and capable of going from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. The Seven 420, the stepping stone to the powerful 620R, uses the same engine as the 360, although it has a dry sump and some modifications to reach 210 CV. Its sprint to 100 km/h takes 4.0 seconds.

But if this is not enough to enjoy a day on the road or a few laps on the circuit—the model’s versatility allows for both—Caterham has developed two optional packs for the Seven designed for this purpose. On the one hand, the S pack, aimed at road use, features more comfortable suspension, 14-inch wheels, an upholstered and covered cabin thanks to the front and rear windows, heating and leather seats, among other things.

The track option is the R pack. In addition to the Caterham Seven’s standard equipment, it adds a limited-slip differential, 15-inch wheels that are 10% lighter, an improved braking system, competition seats with four-point harnesses, and a dedicated tachometer for optimised use at high revs.
