The CUPRA Leon e-Hybrid receives updates and features the VZ Cup trim

The CUPRA Leon e-Hybrid welcomes new updates to its mechanical and also aesthetic features, receiving the sporty VZ CUP trim

Launched in 2020, the most powerful plug-in hybrid version of the CUPRA Leon arrived to make the range even more sustainable, with 245 CV power output, to which a few months later another slightly toned-down version with 204 CV of power was added. Both versions now receive updates to their design and mechanics, making them even more appealing.

We must keep in mind that what we are going to break down below focuses solely on the plug-in hybrid or e-Hybrid variants, as CUPRA calls them, at the power outputs described above. These updates will be available both for the five-door bodywork and the Sportstourer estate bodywork, and they arrive to reinforce the sporty character of the brand.

Regardless of the power output we choose for our CUPRA Leon e-Hybrid, its chassis has its height reduced by 25 millimetres. The brand has already transferred this to production, which will help the Leon e-Hybrid have a lower centre of gravity, improve its grip in corners and also its aerodynamics. In addition, both variants can now be fitted with the braking system signed by Brembo, consisting of ventilated and drilled 370 mm discs and four-piston brake calipers, which will ensure even more effective braking than the standard braking system.

If we opt to fit this braking system on our CUPRA Leon e-Hybrid, it also includes the sport knuckle, which further helps improve aerodynamics, cornering grip, precision and responsiveness, all thanks to a negative camber angle now going from 1º to 1.39º.

Now, more specifically, if we opt for the 245 CV CUPRA Leon e-Hybrid, we can choose it with the VZ CUP trim, which we saw a month ago when the brand launched it only in Germany, and which now also reaches the Spanish market. With this trim we add 19-inch Exclusive II wheels in black/copper two-tone, with the copper also present on the Brembo brake calipers. To this are added specific bumpers, side skirts, rear spoiler and diffuser, and the exhaust line with four outlets.

The VZ CUP trim also brings changes to the interior, as it receives CUPBucket seats with carbon fibre rear sections and upholstered in black or Petrol Blue leather. Depending on which colour we choose, this colour will also appear in the dashboard upholstery and the door panels. These seats provide a greater sense of sportiness, as they sit lower to favour space and also offer a more ergonomic posture.
