The Spanish subsidiary of Citroën has announced that the DS 4 can now be purchased in Spain with two of the latest engines developed by PSA. The compact can be equipped with the new BlueHDi of 120 CV and the petrol PureTech e-THP three-cylinder in the 130 CV version, the latter fitted with a Stop&Start system.

These engines, which comply with Euro 6 emissions regulations, replace the e-HDi of 115 CV and the VTi of 120 CV. Compared with them, the new powertrains deliver a torque increase of 44 % and 11 % respectively, as well as a reduction in CO2 emissions of 19 % and 12 %.

With the 120 CV BlueHDi, the DS 4 returns a combined cycle consumption of 3.7 l/100 km, emits 97 g/km of CO2, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 193 km/h. For the 130 CV PureTech e-THP, these figures are 5 l/100 km, 116 g/km of CO2, 9.9 seconds and 198 km/h.

Citroën has announced other news regarding the DS 4. Firstly, customers will be able to choose a different colour for the roof, the rear spoiler and the mirror housings. The available options will be Black, Whisper and Virtual Blue.

In addition, as with the DS 3, Citroën offers as a novelty on the DS 4 the DS Connect pack, which among its services includes emergency call and localised assistance. As for the smallest model in the DS sub-brand, one of the novelties that form part of its update has already been added to its equipment.

This is the Active City Brake city emergency braking system. If this device detects a risk of a low-speed rear-end collision and the driver does not react, it brakes the car to try to avoid it or mitigate the possible damage it may cause. The system is available on both body styles of the DS 3.
