Hilux Toyota Electric Cars Pick-up
The first pick-up from the brand, the Toyota Hilux BEV, arrives in Spain
The Toyota Hilux receives a fully electric version that retains all the versatility of the model, but with a zero-emission drivetrain.

The pick-up Toyota Hilux is one of the best-selling vehicles in the world. It is a highly functional vehicle, built to handle hard work at all times. Now, with the addition of an electric version, the Japanese brand offers a complete range of different drivetrain types. Thus, those who want to enjoy the versatility of the Hilux with a zero-emission drive system can purchase this new variant.
All the features of the Hilux are present in this electric version: robustness, quality, reliability and durability. But the design goes beyond an electric motor and battery system: connectivity, digitalisation, safety and comfort have also been reinforced, so that it remains the Hilux you know, but better.

Powertrain of the Toyota Hilux BEV
The new Toyota Hilux BEV features two electric motors delivering a combined output of 144 kW, equivalent to 196 CV. The battery has a capacity of 59.2 kWh, providing an electric-mode range of 255 kilometres on the WLTP combined cycle and up to 385 kilometres on the urban cycle.

The battery is located between the frame rails, a position that protects it from side impacts. A subframe has been fitted underneath, along with a protective plate that also guards against damage from impacts in that area. There are five driving modes thanks to the Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) system, and it incorporates a new mode that optimises vehicle control on terrain with steep gradients. This allows it to maintain traction even if one of the wheels loses grip.
In terms of safety, it includes the third generation of Toyota Safety Sense and the Toyota Assist systems, so driver assistance is comprehensive and efficient.
Externally, it remains robust and agile, with a closed front grille, newly designed side steps, and additional steps at the rear to provide easy access to the load bed. The aluminium wheels measure 17 inches.

A look at the cabin reveals a more digitalised and connected environment. The digital instrument display measures 12.3 inches, and the multimedia screen is the same size. It includes Toyota Smart Connect, offering a more efficient and simpler interface. The multifunction steering wheel makes controls easier to access and features USB-C ports and wireless connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Availability
The new Toyota Hilux BEV is offered as a double cab in two trim levels. The entry version is called GX, and the top of the range is the VX, with a higher level of comfort and technology. Buyers can choose from Gris Trueno, Blanco Classic and Blanco Perlado Iceberg, with cloth or synthetic leather upholstery depending on the trim.
Pre-orders are already open, and the first units are expected to reach the Spanish market soon. The starting price is 41,588 euros, although this will increase depending on the trim level and optional equipment.
