Ford Spain has decided to make some changes to the engines available in its C-Max and Grand C-Max models. The arrival of an efficient engine such as the 1-litre Ecoboost has allowed Ford to offer it as the sole petrol engine in both models, providing a very economical alternative in terms of consumption. Ford has also decided to increase the price of both models by 200 euros.

From now on, the 1.6 EcoBoost engines with 150 hp and the 2.0 TDCi diesel engine with 163 hp will no longer be sold in these models, so the only petrol alternative available will be the small 1-litre Ecoboost.

The C-Max range will also include three diesel engines: the 1.6 TDCi with 95 and 114 hp, and the 2.0 TDCi, now in its 140 hp variant. In all cases they can be bought with the 6-speed manual gearbox or, for the 140 hp diesel version, the PowerShift automatic.

The Grand C-Max will offer only the 1.6 TDCi in its 114 hp version, along with the same 2.0 TDCi offered in the C-Max. The gearbox options are the same as those available for its smaller sibling.

Prices for the C-MAX start from 17,700 euros for the Trend 1.0 Ecoboost Auto-Start-Stop 125 CV. The cheapest Grand C-MAX costs 19,100 euros, the Trend 1.0 Ecoboost Auto-Start-Stop 125 CV, with 5 seats.
