It could be said that the Lotus Emira is the sports car of the summer, not only because of the anticipation that any model of this kind can generate, but also because the Emira marks a before and after for the English brand, since, as you already know, the brand’s upcoming models will all be electric. But for now let’s enjoy what we have, and in this case the V6 version of the Emira, which has already revealed the specifications of the First Edition version.

The Lotus Emira V6 First Edition will be the launch special edition, a model that arrives with expanded equipment whose production is scheduled to begin next spring, while the First Edition fitted with the AMG-sourced four-cylinder engine will not arrive until autumn. But while it makes its way onto the roads, let’s see what the Emira V6 First Edition has in store for us.

The Lotus Emira V6 First Edition will have six body colours available from the moment of its launch, including the spectacular blue Seneca Blue that we saw in July when it was unveiled to the world, and more colours will join them throughout 2022. These colours will be combined with the standard-fit Lower Black Pack, in which the front bumper fins, the front splitter, the side skirts and the rear diffuser are finished in gloss black.

Continuing with the exterior of the Emira V6 First Edition, the standard equipment also includes 20-inch alloy wheels with a two-tone diamond-finish double-spoke “V” design, although, if desired and at no extra cost, they can also be specified in silver or gloss black. We must also add to the standard equipment the complete LED light clusters, folding and heated door mirrors, rear parking sensors, high-performance brake discs and tyre pressure monitoring system.

Of the options available for the Lotus Emira V6, there are three further packs included as standard equipment. On one hand, the Drivers Pack, which combines the suspension in “Tour” or “Sport” configuration with Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres, or “Sport” configuration with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres; on the other hand, there is the Design Pack, which includes darkened rear glass, sport pedals, painted brake calipers, an Alcántara-trimmed roof and Lotus floor mats; and finally, there is the Convenience Pack, which adds front parking sensors, rear-view camera, rain sensor, auto-dimming mirrors and a luggage storage net.

Stepping inside, the Lotus Emira V6 First Edition will be available in seven colours for the Nappa leather or Alcántara upholstery that can be used as trim, combined with satin-chrome inserts and white LED ambient lighting. Also included are the infotainment system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, KEF premium sound system, DAB digital radio, navigation, connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster, electric heated seats, climate control, cruise control, keyless start and selectable driving modes.

Mechanically, let’s recall that the Lotus Emira V6 uses a 3,500 cc turbocharged V6 engine of Toyota origin that delivers 400 CV, with torque of 420 Nm for the version with the six-speed manual gearbox, or 430 Nm if we opt for the automatic gearbox. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h with the manual transmission takes 4.3 seconds, while with the automatic gearbox it takes 4.2 seconds, although in both cases the top speed is 290 km/h.

As mentioned a little earlier, the Emira V6 First Edition will begin production in spring, with a price starting from £75,995.
