Dacia Sandero Industry Other Sedans
The new Dacia Sandero arrives in Russia under the Renault brand

Brand strategy is a complicated matter. Some brands triumph in one country and yet never quite take off in others, no matter how good the cars they sell are. For this reason, companies sometimes decide to change the badge under which a model is sold, bringing it to that market under another brand within the group. The best-known case is the Opel/Vauxhall in the British market, but Renault has also opted to switch the brand of one of the models from Dacia.
This is the Dacia Sandero, whose second generation has been unveiled at the Moscow Motor Show, but under the badge of Renault. Thus, it becomes the Renault Sandero, which incorporates some of the features typical of cars from the French brand, starting with a modified front grille featuring the well-known diamond of the French marque.
This is basically the only difference compared with the other countries where the model is sold. The previous generation of the Sandero, and also of the Logan, unlike the rest of Europe where they kept their original brand, Dacia. It is an economical car and, as in other markets, such as the Spanish one, it enjoys the approval of city car users but with a slightly larger and more spacious style than these usually have.

The Renault Sandero comes accompanied by the Sandero Stepway. As with that variant under the Dacia brand, this model features a more robust body and its ground clearance rises to 195 mm, somewhat more than the other model.
The base model of the Renault Sandero has a 1.2-litre engine delivering 75 CV, together with a five-speed manual gearbox. It also offers a 102 CV version, with a 1.6-litre engine, also with a five-speed manual gearbox and optionally with a four-speed automatic transmission.
