Last summer, MG announced that it would soon expand its range with a new fully electric model aimed at the C-SUV segment. That model is the new MGS6 EV, which the brand has now decided to launch on the European market and, more specifically, in Spain, where it can already be ordered with discounts that, together with the equipment it includes, make it an interesting vehicle, especially if you live in a big city.

The MGS6 EV is, as we said, a fully electric SUV that will sit above the MGS5 EV. In fact, if you look closely you will see that it shares many elements with it, or very similar ones. In terms of size, you would need to have them side by side to tell which is bigger, although don’t worry, because we’ll tell you here: the MGS5 EV measures 4,476 mm, while the MGS6 EV is slightly longer, reaching 4,708 mm. We should also not forget other dimensions such as a width of 1,912 mm and a height of 1,672 mm.

As for its design, the new MGS6 EV is characterised by soft, clean lines running across a bodywork that has been refined through more than 900 simulations and 5,000 minutes in the wind tunnel. All of this has achieved a drag coefficient of 0.27, which will undoubtedly help increase electric range, although it is not the only factor. It also incorporates features such as an active grille shutter system, front wheel deflectors, aerodynamic covers and alloy wheels optimised in sizes of 19 and 20 inches.

From here on, broadly speaking, the MGS6 EV bears some resemblance to the MGS5 EV, starting with its front end, with a similar yet new headlight design that gives the brand’s light signature a different touch. Further down, in the bumper, the two are very similar, although on the side a new triangular shape has been added to house the fog lights and their trim. From the side, the MGS6 EV features a more streamlined design, especially at the lower end of the doors together with their moulding, finishing at a rear end with a light cluster that, although it is also joined by a thin central light strip, is undoubtedly better integrated into the MGS6 EV, including its bumper and rear diffuser.

As we can see, despite a certain resemblance, the MGS6 EV, as the bigger sibling, not only is slightly larger but also has a more elegant design than the MGS5 EV, and this carries over to its interior. Clean surfaces and smooth lines also extend to this area, combined with the use of soft-touch materials throughout the cabin, including upholstery that combines grey vegan leather and suede with carbon-effect trim. On top of all this, there is a large boot with a capacity of 674 litres, expandable to 1,910 litres if the rear seats are folded down, not to mention the 124 litres of the front boot and more than 30 storage solutions spread throughout the cabin.

The new MGS6 EV will be offered in the Long Range version, which has a single motor on the front axle delivering 244 CV and 350 Nm of torque, as well as the Dual Motor version, which adds a motor on the rear axle to provide all-wheel drive, with a combined output of 361 CV and 540 Nm of torque.
