The new Volkswagen Polo GTI is now a reality and its arrival is announced along with its 207 CV
A new Volkswagen Polo GTI will soon arrive in cities at the end of this summer, featuring a sporty design and 207 CV of power

Since 1976, the GTI badge has accompanied the most iconic models of Volkswagen and, more specifically, since 1998 it has been applied to the Polo when its first GTI version arrived to replace the Polo GT G40 at the time. Now, 23 years later, a new Polo GTI is unveiled ahead of its arrival at the end of the summer.
Based on the latest update applied across the rest of the Volkswagen Polo range, the GTI version features a distinctive design that makes it resemble its bigger brother, the Golf GTI. This can be seen in the introduction, as standard equipment includes Matrix LED IQ.LIGHT headlights accompanied by an illuminated horizontal bar in the front grille. Lower down, we can see the specific bumper with a honeycomb-style grille, into whose openings the fog lights are integrated.

Looking at its side profile is where you can best see how its bodywork sits slightly lower than the rest of the Polo range, specifically 15 mm lower for the Polo GTI, along with 18-inch wheels behind which the brake calipers are painted red. At the rear, LED lights with a new light signature make an appearance, incorporating an animated brake light and integrated dynamic indicators, as well as a spoiler on the upper edge and a specific rear bumper that enhances the sensation of width.

Inside the new Volkswagen Polo GTI, the sporty styling continues, and no less than the signature “Clark” check-pattern upholstery is included, something always associated with the brand’s GTI models. All of this comes with the latest technology, such as the Digital Cockpit Pro with a 10.25-inch screen and the Ready2Discover infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen as standard equipment, although the latter can be upgraded to 9 inches with a navigation system as an option.

Mechanically, the new Volkswagen Polo GTI uses the 2.0 TSI petrol engine, which delivers 207 CV of power and 320 Nm of torque, sent to the front axle through the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, together with the XDS electronic differential lock. Thanks to this combination, the Polo GTI accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 240 km/h. It also features four driving modes: ECO, Normal, Individual and Sport, and optionally the Sport Select chassis can be fitted, promising a more fun and dynamic driving experience.
