The Peugeot 208 GTI will present its production version in Paris
The production version of the Peugeot 208 GTI will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, with two variants of 156 and 207 hp.

The production version of the new Peugeot 208 GTI will arrive at the Paris Motor Show with an addition to its engine line-up: alongside the 2-litre 207 hp unit, the offer will also include the 1.6 turbo of 156 hp. The latter will be the GTI proper, while the next model up would be called GTI Racing.
But the 208 GTI will not be a competition machine for the road, exactly. According to a European executive of the lion brand, to whom we had access, the 208 GTI will not be as extreme as other models in the segment, but will instead be “a vehicle that is appropriate, easy to drive and practical for everyday driving”, so it may be time to stop expecting hard suspension. The path Peugeot has chosen probably isn’t the most suitable, given the somewhat unfortunate past experience with the 207 RC.

However, it has gained a much more aggressive look on the outside, and the truth is that it has changed very little from the concept shown at the Geneva Motor Show. With 18-inch alloy wheels filling the widened wheel arches, a rear spoiler above the rear window and a double exhaust outlet, it is complemented by a cabin that emphasises the car’s sporty character, with aluminium pedals, wraparound seats and specific materials and finishes for the dashboard and upholstery.
After its presentation in Paris, it will begin reaching dealerships early next year with a price positioned around €20,000 for the 156 hp version and €25,000 for the 207 hp one.
