Polestar Polestar 3 Electric Cars ECO SUV
The Polestar 3 dispenses with one motor to increase its range to up to 650 km
Polestar adds a new entry-level variant to its SUV range, the Polestar 3, which dispenses with the front motor to reach 650 km of range and lower the price by 7,000 euros compared with the Dual Motor version.

There’s no denying it: Polestar models impress when you drive them. They are very well built cars that have always stood out for their wealth of onboard technology, their outstanding range figures, and a balance between sportiness and comfort that very few of their rivals achieve. But they are also expensive models that compete directly with the most premium offerings. And the Polestar 3 is a clear example: 88,900 euros is the price of the Dual Motor version with 360 kW (490 CV), a 111 kWh battery and 630 km of range. Above it sits the variant with the Performance Pack, which raises power to 517 CV, comes with more equipment and specific suspension tuning, and costs 95,500 euros.
New Polestar 3 “Single Motor”
Now, Polestar adds a new “Single Motor” version to the range, which dispenses with the front motor and relies on a single motor that sends its power to the rear wheels. It produces 220 kW (300 CV) and 490 Nm of torque, enough to deliver good acceleration: it goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds. Best of all, it uses the same 111 kWh battery as the more powerful versions, which allows the Polestar 3 to homologate a WLTP range of 650 km.

This new version retains many of the features of the rest of the range, such as the ability to use fast charging at a power of up to 250 kW, which allows the battery to be charged from 10 to 80% in just half an hour using fast charging. It also includes as standard variable adaptive damping and powerful Brembo brakes with 4-piston calipers, and it keeps the customisation possibilities based on various individual options and packs, notably the Pilot Pack with LiDAR, although it will be a few more months before it can be fitted. With this equipment, Polestar models will be ready for Level 3 automated driving.
In size and price, the Polestar 3 competes with other electric SUVs such as the Audi Q8 e-tron, the Tesla Model X and the BMW iX.
